What is Filipino Time?
If you have a Filipino friend, you already know. It's probably pissed you off at some point. Perhaps it hasn't. Unfortunately, the concept of Filipino time will always be a glaring facet of Filipino culture.
It revolves around the official timing of the Philippines. Widely considered a cultural phenomenon, many Filipinos practice or accept this absurd habit of being tardy - ranging from just a few minutes to as much as a few hours.
Embarrassing as it is ignorant, I too suffer from this habit. It brands us Filipinos as having a lack of respect for other people's time. F*ck that, son. It's time to change.
The HADJI Chronicles is on a mission to save the dignity of the Filipino people, and show mankind that your time is as important as my own.
I'll be launching a new YouTube series - Filipino TIME - which looks to redefine that term into something positive. It aims to find the EXTRAORDINARY in the ordinary with a purpose of inspiring and motivating others by spending MORE time with people in their element who live out their true passion.
Filipino TIME will shine the spotlight on to the lives of those I cross paths with throughout my journeys in the typically experimental and unscripted HADJI fashion.
You've probably stood in line behind them in the grocery store, pulled up next to them at a stop light, maybe even sat in the same row at a concert or movie. But they have probably also
saved a person's life, conquered a fear, or filled as a stunt-double for J-Lo in the movies without knowing. The possibilities are endless.
I firmly believe everyone fosters a capacity to be EXTRAORDINARY and has the ability to help others reach their potential. If that's you, holla at me. I would love to share your story!
Together, we can make Filipino Time great again.
Stay tuned for more, homie.
